Abstract
Background: Traumatic nerve injuries may result in severe motor dysfunctions. Although the microenvironment of peripheral axons favors their regeneration, regenerative process is not always successful.

Purpose: We reviewed and discussed the main findings obtained with low-level laser therapy (LLLT), a therapeutic intervention that has been employed in order to achieve an optimized regeneration process in peripheral axons.

Scope: Disseminating the best available evidence for the effectiveness of this therapeutic strategy can potentially improve the statistics of success in the clinical treatment of nerve injuries. We found evidence that LLLT optimizes the regeneration of peripheral axons, improving motor function, especially in animal models. Nonetheless, further clinical evidence is still needed before LLLT can be strongly recommended. Although the results are promising, the elucidation of the mechanisms of action and safety assessment are necessary to support high quality clinical studies.

Currently, Conventional medicine does not have a cure for people who suffer from peripheral neuropathy. Patients are prescribed powerful medications (painkillers, antidepressants, antiseizure) that do not treat the cause of the damaged peripheral nerves causing the pain, numbness, discoloration, cramping, restless legs, and balance issues. These types of medications only cover up the pain and symptoms temporarily while the peripheral neuropathy condition continues to progressively get worse resulting in more nerve damage.

Dr. Alfonso‘s Neuropathy Treatment Protocol utilizes 8 specialized peripheral neuropathy treatments designed to improve the supply of oxygen, eliminate waste, and improve nutrition to damaged nerves. Increased circulation to the damaged peripheral nerves combined with treatments to stimulate peripheral nerve cell regeneration, and repair.

Dr. Alfonso Neuropathy Treatment Protocol Improves and increases oxygen and nutrition through the increase of circulation to the damaged nerves.
Repairs peripheral fibers by stimulating regenerative of new nerve cells.
Removes and eliminates mechanical peripheral nerve entrapments and compressions in the spine and extremities

These unique treatments not only increase circulation rehabilitating the cause of neuropathy but also stimulates electrical and chemical processes to relieve pain and prompt nerve tissue healing. This stimulation at a cellular level facilitates the body’s natural repair mechanisms to heal damaged tissues, relieve pain, and stimulate nerve cell growth.
